Since 1986, the women of Anonymous 4 have sung medieval chant and polyphony with passion and skill. They've even branched forward into Renaissance and sacred American folk music. The quartet's Christmas-themed program for this Early Music Now concert is built around "The Cherry Tree Carol," a miracle ballad about Mary and Joseph that can be found in 15th-century British carols and in traditional Appalachian music.
